-output channel distribution amplifier for VGA / SVGA colour video, suitable for PC graphics resolutions up to 1024x768 pixels (non-interlaced).
Video graphics signals are amplified and cable-matched through video line
drivers. One output is for local connections only and six outputs may be either local or matched to a specific cable type with internally link-adjustable cable length compensation for long remote connections.
Adjustable signal compensation is provided for 0-150 metres (in ten steps) of special multicore cable.
Any of the six compensated outputs may be converted to monochrome using an internal link selection.
The unit is housed in a flame-retardant plastic case requiring an external 12v regulated power supply, available from C.A. Designs (order 1 x MP1*).
The product uses 15-pin HDD female socket connectors (please refer to the associated datasheet for further details) and will connect to standard VGA / XGA ports using a 15-pin high density 'D' male to male lead.
For cables longer than 2 metres, cable type greatly affects picture quality.
For lengths up to 30 metres use a high quality (low capacitance) video cable.
For lengths from 30 up to 150 metres these distribution amplifiers have in-built cable-loss compensation for a specific cable type (Belden 9730). This cable must be made up using exact connection details as specified in the VA2X-150 datasheet.
Suitable cables of this specification are available pre-manufactured from C.A. Designs (order LD5*).
Other low-loss cable types may be used but the compensation provided by these products may not be accurate.
