TP3R Twisted Pair VGA Triple Video Line Driver
(19in rack mount)

TP3R big picture

The C.A. Designs VGA / SVGA / XGA twisted-pair triple video driver TP3B is part of a line interface for the transport of video signals, throughout buildings wired with category 5 cable systems, to remote monitor screens.

The TP3B-0 transforms the VGA / SVGA / XGA video output from a PC graphics adapter into a differential composite analogue video format suitable for transmission over twisted-pair cables. It additionally has switchable cable compensation for driving longer cables than the TP3B.

Synchronisation pulses of any polarity are accepted and may be recreated at the receiving end by a TP1V or TP1K receiver.

Power is sent over the transmission link to the receiver which requires no other external power supply.

The twisted-pair cable used must be category 5 grade or better (depending on length and acceptable quality). Foil-screened cable is recommended for optimum EMC.

Excellent picture quality with resolutions up to 1024x768 (non-interlaced) using category 5 twisted-pair cable is obtainable from:

  • TP3R-200 with a TP1V-100 up to 300m
  • TP3R-200 with a TP1K-100 up to 300m
  • TP3R-200 with a TP1K-200 up to 400m

External power must be provided from a 12V regulated power supply (eg MP7)
