KM1*
C.A. Designs keyboard and mouse extender systems KM1* enable personal computers to be operated with keyboard and mouse remote from the system unit. Power is derived from the computer and no additional connections are required.
The units are comprised of:
- One module connected to the computer, via two leads
- Linked by an interconnecting cable (provided by the user), to a
- Second module into which the keyboard and mouse plug
Versions available include:
- KM1B
PC keyboard and PS/2 mouse extender, cable type A (200m version)
- KM1D-2
PC keyboard and PS/2 or serial mouse extender, cable type C (200m version)
- KM1E-2
PC keyboard and serial mouse extender, cable type C (200m version)
- KM1F-2
PC keyboard and PS/2 mouse extender, cable type C (200m version)
- KM1G
PC keyboard and serial mouse extender, cable type C (300m version)
- KM1H
Hewlett-Packard Domain keyboard and mouse extender, cable type C (200m version)

Interconnecting cable A requires:
- 6 cores of 7 strand 0.2mm wire with an overall braided screen
- Ends are terminated in 9-pin 'D' connectors
- Pins 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7 inclusive wired pin 1-1, etc.
- The cable screening braid must be wired pin 4 to pin 4 (in parallel with the pin 4 wire)
Interconnecting cable B requires:
- 3 twisted-pairs of 7 strand 0.15mm wire or 24 AWG solid UTP
- Ends are terminated in 6-pin RJ11 connectors wired pin 1 to pin 1, etc.
Interconnecting cable C requires:
- Category 5 UTP / FTP cable
- 4 twisted-pairs of 7 strand 0.15mm wire or 24 AWG solid wire
- Ends are terminated in 8 pin RJ45 connectors wired to EIA568
Interconnecting cable D requires:
- 8 cores of 7 strand 0.2mm wire with an overall braided screen
- Pins 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 inclusive wired pin 1-1, etc.
- Ends are terminated in 9-pin 'D' connectors

- Adapter leads are available to convert PS/2 keyboard types to AT-type (6 pin mini-DIN plug standard to 5 pin-DIN plug) part codes LD7A and LD7C).
- KM1H requires an extra Hewlett-Packard keyboard lead (not supplied)
- All modules are housed in flame-retardant beige plastic boxes
- Rack-mounting EuroCard versions are available; please contact our sales department for further details
