The C.A. Designs KC1A keyboard converter allows a PC keyboard port to be driven from an external serial data source.
XT scan codes input in serial form through an optically-isolated RS232 serial port are converted to XT keyboard signals.
An LED shows that the serial port is connected and and will flicker during data transmission.
Incoming serial codes must be XT scan codes and should not arrive faster than 30ms per character (the maximum typematic rate for many PCs).
The PC to which it is connected will boot up as if a real keyboard is present.
