FIBRE-KM
The C.A. Designs FIBRE-KM electrically-isolated PC keyboard and serial or PS/2 mouse extender system enables a personal computer to be operated with both an IBM keyboard and mouse remote (up to 300m) from the system unit.
The FIBRE-KM is comprised of two modules connected by up to 300m of duplex fibre-optic cable, normally using ST connectors (SMA optional) and optimized for 50/125 or 62.5/125 fibre. This typically allows the transport of PC keyboard and mouse signals within electrically noisy environments to remote keyboards and mice.
Each link has a line-driving module and line-receiving module.
The line-driving module transforms the keyboard and mouse signals into a format suitably matched to fibre-optic cable.
The line-receiving module reconstructs the keyboard and mouse signals from the transmission line into a compatible output signals for an appropriate keyboard and serial or PS/2-style mouse.
